Our family is staying on Water Island for 10 days in March. My nearly 9 year old son wants to do some fishing. Is there a place on WI or STT that rents equipment? We are just looking to do some shore fishing. Thanks

No place to rent that I know of. You can carry a rod as a carry-on, pack the reel and buy hooks at the marina store at Crown Bay. If you are checking a bag, take some artificials, hooks and pliers. Paddle tail minnows do well as do Rapala minnows. Fish in Flamingo Bay or off the deep water dock,or at Honeymoon in the early morning. Just don't plan on eating the fish you catch inshore. If you want a great guided trip call Dogsled Charters. The captain lives on Water Island.

Growing up, we fished off of docks and rocks with just a handline.
Had a bucket filled with seawater to put our catch in so we could put them all back when we finished fishing.
I am sure he'll have fun. Bait can be anything.

Thanks. I'll see if we have room in the suitcase to bring his rod and some of his tackle box items. See you all next month! Can't wait!!!
