Hello, We are traveling to St. John April 1-10 and couldn't be more excited! It's our first time to the island after vacationing many years in Mexico. This has probably been addressed many times, but every forecast I look at for St. John shows rain in the forecast! I am worried about the infamous "mosquitoe bloom" that has been talked about. Has it been raining a lot and should I expect the bugs to be awful come April 1? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I second this question, its my first time in the islands and were staying in St.Thomas the 2-9th and the forecast is making me a little nervous. Should we be expecting rain all day everyday or is it short showers with sunshine inbetween?

1. Stop reading/watching weather forecasts.

2. Pack plenty of sunscreen.

3. The end.

😀

I have to agree with STT Resident. It will always rain in the VI and if it didn't you would not go there (brown vegetation is not a good vacation color). Weather sites/channels always CYA so to predict 30% everyday is just that. If it rains it does so sporadically and not necessarily across an entire island. We have been out al day enjoying the sun only to get back to the villa and find everything wet from a quick rain. That's not say rainy days do not occur but listening to the weather sites will only confuse.
Take the sun tan lotion (a good one) and make sure you use it.
