Has the rain subsided? And how bad are the bugs?

Just got back Saturday night from a week in St. John.

Mosquitos are quite bad, bring the repellent though and apply often and you should be okay. Rained hard once a day but never put a real crimp in the day's plans. Its a warm rain and it ends quickly.

No rain and no mosquitos here in CT but I'd go back to STJ in a heart beat...

Anyone have a guess whether the increase in bugs due to the recent rains might clear up or at least decrease before June 2nd? I was wondering if it is something that goes away or decreases signficantly with some dry weather and good breezes?? I am pretty good about staying off the beaches early a.m. and dusk when the no-see-ums are at their worst but wanted to get an idea how much worse it is going to be this year.

Eric

p.s. just got 3 bottles of Avon skin so soft w/bug repellant off ebay for about $12 based on some of the recommendations from others on the board.

No heavy rain for a couple of weeks now just the very, very brief passing shower (5 mins long or so 🙂 ) so no worries.
Do not look at the weather forecast as it ALWAYS says 30% of rain and they are right as sometime during a 24 hour period somewhere over the region will have a 5 min shower and remember 30% chance of rain is 70% chance of sunshine 🙂
The bugs are finally getting better. Anytime after heavy rain, 7-10 days later they come out in full force but now they are subsiding 🙂

Hope this helps

Pia
