We leave on Thursday and are getting pretty excited! (tu) I looked at some of the web cams the last few days and it was rainy and/or cloudy. For those of you who are down there, how are the temps looking and what is the water temperature these days? I am from the northeast, so I figure I am going to enjoy the water temp even if it is only 70!

Going Back after 20 years......Can't wait to show my kids what real ocean water looks like! *-)

Sun is starting to break out, although the water looks ROUGH from my deck.

Check those webcams again.

Wow! 20 yrs is a long time! I've been here almost 13 from Philly and things have changed so much since then. You are going to love being able to see your toes in the water!

For water temperature check ndbc.noaa.gov ---- station 41043 - that is the ocean temp and it will almost always be warmer in the shallow beach waters. currently about 77'-78' -- air temp is low- mid 80's every day from 9am-5pm

Thanks for the replies!

It is funny, over the years we have told the kids about being able to see your toes when you are all the way in the water. After swimming in the northeast (Long Island Sound - YUCK!) and the Jersey shore, my kids are going to be floored when they get in the water down there. My 10 yr old son has been practicing snorkeling in the hot tub for the past two days - pretty funny sight. 😀 My 15 yr old daughter is turned off by our cold water temps and all the seaweed/jellyfish/rocky sand. I think she will settle in to STT beaches pretty quickly/easily.

Can't wait to get there!
