Just wondering what the weather is typically like there in November? I have been there in Jan or Feb, but never in November. Looks like weather reports call for lots of rain and high waves??? Is this normal? Has any one recently visited the islands by cruising? What were the seas like? :S

High waves are relative; they may be higher here in November than other times of the year, but absent a hurricane the waves tend to be insignificant compared to Pacific and Atlantic waves. November is often one of our rainier months, but it remains warm and the majority of the precipitation usually comes at night.

Normal seas for this time of year run 4' to 6' out of the East with 9' to 11' swells from the North. Modern Cruise ships are equipped to stabilize the effects of rough seas. Although the Noordam entered service in 1984, and is the smallest in Holland America's fleet, unless you run into a tropical disturbance at sea, you probably won't even know how rough or smooth the water is without looking out a porthole/window. You'll have a great cruise.
