Im going down to St. Thomas June 1-June 8. Its says it is gonna rain everyday. Is this something I should be concerned about? I've read that it rains everyday there but it is only for a short period of time. Im wondering if this is true. Usually here in New York when it rains it ruins the whole day. Thanks!!!

Hello Longisland,

Today is a beautiful, sunny day in St. Thomas. I took a look at the 15 day forecast and saw the rainy reports. Usually we don't get all day rain storms, they do happen but aren't typical. It often rains here for a short bit of time late at night-early morning and then when the sun rises it clears up. Hope the forecast looks a little sunnier as the days get closer and that you have great weather for your trip!

Please everyone stop looking at the forecasts. They ALWAYS saw rain because it rains everyday.....somewhere on the island for a few minutes here and there. I think we had one day last month where it was overcast and rainy all day, the crappy day before that was in January. No worries.

EVERY single forecast from every single day will say partly sunny partly cloudy with scattered showers.

Check out the USVI podcast (listed at the top of the messages) - it
will really get you in the mood...

...ocean temp 85F - pool temp 90F...

Alex sez - "...while that pool is beckoning, the floating chair has your favorite drink and it is ready for you..."

just a few more weeks to go...soon-soon-soon

We just got home late last night from STT. The week we were there, it rained for a short time one morning and that was pretty much it, although there were brief showers here and there I think. Like you've heard on here before, weather is NOT a concern. We went to St. John on Friday and it was gorgeous. We rented a scooter for the day ($65) and I HIGHLY recommend it!! We buzzed all over and had a great time on that beautiful island. St. Thomas is pretty awesome as well. I look forward to our return, whenever that might be.

Thanks for the update Carol, I certainly appreciate it. Where did you rent the scooter from? I think that is something I would be interested in doing. Thanks for any information you can provide me. Its good to hear you had a nice vacation, Im counting down the days until I can go.

I can't recall the name of it, but it seemed to be the only place around. Where it is...ok, when you get off the ferry (not the car barge) you're in Cruz Bay. Walk past the taxis to the left and circle around until you see the info booth on your left. It's just a one minute walk. Now look up the hill to the left a little and you'll see a yellow scooter sitting out there. So, go up that hill and turn in to your left and you'll see the place in there. The guy is very helpful and is very nice too. You don't even have to return it with gas. He said the gas is "on him." Just make sure that whoever is driving it really knows how to drive a motorcycle or scooter. There is a lot of gravel in the road sometimes and if you don't know what you're doing you could "lay it down" which would not be fun. My husband has his motorcycle license, so we had no problems, but the roads are windy and steep in places, and the guy will tell you that you have to swing wide. All in all, there is really nothing to worry about, but lots of fun to be had. I really fell in love with St. John and wish we had gone there more than just the one day. Next time..........
Hey, if you want anymore info, you can email me at [email protected] and I'll be happy to answer any questions! Have fun! (like I need to tell you that!!)

From Carol's description it sounds like Scooters in Paradise, 340-693-7368.
