Hi there. I'm looking to stay & get married at either the Buccaneer or Sugar Bay. Can anyone tell me the pros & cons of both choice? How is the food? Looking to have 75-100 people for the wedding. What are some recommendations for things to do with the group? Or is it too big of a group? Which is the better island? St Croix or St Thomas? Thanks so much for your help.

Most of your questions involve personal preference. But I used to work at the Buccaneer and they do a WONDERFUL wedding. Call and speak to either Carolyn or Corinne in the Wedding Office 1-800-255-3881.

Congratulations, sassyg1rl! Wishing you and yours nothing but happiness.

Both properties can easily accommodate a group of that size, so they're equal in that regard.

One of the things I like about Sugar Bay is their wooden staircase in the lobby. I see so many wedding parties taking photos on the staircase, and they look absolutely gorgeous! Sugar Bay has fantastic views of nearby islands, and they make beautiful backdrops for your photos. There aren't any islands near St Croix, so you'll most likely get sea/garden views.

Since St Thomas is close to St John and the BVI, you and your group have the opportunity to island hop a bit if you have time. The only island you can get to easily from St Croix is Buck Island.

It's been a while since I've eaten at Sugar Bay, but to me the food was just mediocre. Since Sugar Bay is mostly All Inclusive, the food quality may not have changed much.

St Croix retains more of their Danish colonial history with restored plantations, etc than St Thomas, so if you or your group is interested in history, St Croix would be the better choice.

Both islands offer similar water activities, but St Croix has horseback riding and bicycle tours. Those aren't available on STT, but are available on Water Island or St John. Sugar Bay offers quite a few water sports on the property (including jet skiing) and is close to marinas if you want to book a boating excursion.

Hopefully others will provide more details. Regardless of your choice, I'm sure you and your wedding will be simply beautiful!
