AshleyA,
It all depends on what "YOU" want for your ideal wedding. I think any "island" can be beautiful it just depends on wether you want seclusion, chaos, crowds. It's a matter of personal preference. IMO I think St. John is the perfect island for a wedding, less crowded, very picturesque, sandy white beaches. It also depends on how large a crowd. Are you going with a group? Is it just the two of you and a few others? St. Thomas offers a lot more in the way of hotels, resorts, restuarants etc. But St. John also has great restuarants but less hotel/resort accomodations.....You need to figure out what you want before that question can really be answered and again it's a matter of personal preference. We got married on St. John and rented a villa the whole time we were there and IMO that was the perfect wedding.

My husband and I used Weddings the Island Way on St. Thomas to help plan our wedding. We picked Magans Bay as our wedding site. It was lovely with the exceptions of the no-see-ums. They had several plans to choose from and were very professional and helpful getting our marriage license there. They will do anything you wish. Their photographer was the best also, she got some very clever pics of us.

Ashley: There are many, many beautiful islands. I am partial to those of the USVI, but there are others. If you want a nice beach wedding at sunset with amenities (a restaurant, place to change, etc) it is indeed hard to beat St Thomas. I have been to beautiful weddings on several beaches and also at the St Peter Greathouse, which is high up on the mountain with beautiful views.

Ashley - I just got married May 13 on Trunk Bay on STJ and I would do it again in a heartbeat. We used Stacy Mulcare of Ceremonies of St John as our coordinator and we couldn't have been happier. I was only on STT for a short bit, so maybe my view is a bit biased, but I think STJ is the way to go. Good Luck!

I got married 9 years ago in STT. It was at Secret Harbor which is right on a beautiful beach with a an open air restaurant called the Blue Moon Cafe.

My couple thoughts of having it at this location was.

1. I wanted the ceremony on the beach
2. I didn't want to have people that attended the wedding (40) schleping all over the place so I like the idea everyone could just go to the beach and just walk over to the reception.

Turned out...the beach was beautiful and the restaurant was awesome. Every year we have gone back for our anniversary :O)
