Hello everyone, need some help here...

I am getting married in November at the Marriott in St. Thomas.

I am looking to have a welcome dinner the night before. I am not looking to have it cost the same as the wedding and would like it to be fun. Maybe a Luau or BBQ of some sort. More laid back then anything. I will use the word reasonable, but I know it is relative. I will put the price at 50 per head as a max and see where that gets me. Please Help!

I also wanted to take a large group fishing. I have searched and searched and it seems like the max is 6 people per boat. Does anyone know if there are larger boats that just dont have internet sites?

Thanks Everyone!

I went to a beach BBQ/pig roast that was a promo thing down at Megan's a few months ago done by this guy who was opening his own beach party BBQ catering company - it was great and he had a pig roast too. Was someone who was a chef elsewhere on island who was starting this as a side business - from hook line and sinker maybe? Can any locals help me out - I can't remember his name - I know I have his business cards in my car, but I'm on vacation for the next month or so. In my opinion, a beach BBQ catered at Megans would be a great welcome dinner and show a different side of the island than where you're staying 🙂

Also you could check out Fins Up Charters (I know they have a website) - I'm not sure how many you're thinking about, but the owner is pretty relaxed and you could always call and ask to include more people. Never used it for a fishing charter, but has been fun other times I've been out, and is a bigger boat with a cabin. How many people are you thinking?

Good luck - hope someone can expand on my info!

Your talking about "Scottie Doo's Beach BBQ"! Scottie works for us at The Hook Line and Sinker in Frenchtown, St Thomas. He started this business because he enjoys both parties and cooking so he decided to combine the two. He doesn't have e-mail but you can reach him through our address. Also through our web site at www.hooklineandsinkervi.com He is going to Alaska for most of the month of Sept. so you might want to get in touch before he leaves.
