Hi gang! Well, we're back tonight. Man, that was too fast!! Have lots of pics and will post a report when I collect my thoughts. USAir managed to screw up and lose our bags on a NON-STOP flight from STT to PHL. How do yo lose bags on a non-stop??? We used the porter, which must have been our mistake since we met about 10 others at the baggage claim in Philly who had also used the porter and were missing bags. Everyone is pretty bummed about the bags, one of which was full of relatively expensive snorkel gear for our entire party, including people who took other flights...but since I had the non-stop flight, I offered to bring the gear back with me in a huge duffel. (sigh)

Had a ball on this adventure. Spent time with Sherri and Jeff at their place (cheers, you two!!) and time with Sherri alone (sort of) at Indigo....yes, we had "black and blue" and ordered Mojitos. Also had a ball with Landlockedbeachlover and her hub...both on Born to Rhumb trip to BVIs and another day when we all got together for cocktails and dinner (our kids were like the best of friends). Yes, I had my favorite clam chowder at Toad and Tart (yummmmmmm) thanks to STT Resident (cheers, Tart!).....and the most delicious fish and chips made with fresh mahi mahi. Ran into RonUSVI and Promoguy (and the lovely Mrs Promo) at the parade. Sorry we didn't make it back to Gallows, guys....we were exhausted after the parade and could barely drag ourselves onto the ferry back to STT. Watched the fireworks from the beach at the Ritz and almost fell asleep in the hammock.

Bought a ton of hotsauce from Ruth and they were so good that we came home with NONE!!

Villa SailAway was fabulous, as always. We cleaned it up really good today in hope that Lip will have us back!! 🙂

Ok, more details in the report. Just wanted to say that we had a fabulous time and are home safe and sound in Philly.

Welcome home! Can't wait for your report. That is crazy about losing luggage on a non-stop! Hope you didn't have to wait long for it to arrive.

So glad to know you made it home safely, sad to hear that the same can't be said for the luggage! Can't remember why right now, but last night I wanted to call you, but knew you were on the plane! Oh, now I remember, what was the name of the town you were talking about in NY? Want to find out where it is, but not sure when I will be able to ck the forum for an answer now as I am GONE as of today!!!!! Give me a call on my cell, if you are headed that way!

Was SOOO happy I got to see a bit more of you this time, I so enjoy your company! Oh, and by the way,for others to know, I kept up with the Mojito's this time!!!!!! lol! Accept for the fact that Blu hung back at Indigo as her daughter was happily playing in the pool with new friends. Hope you enjoyed another drink!!!!!! 🙂

Well, this is it for me. Signing off.
Take Care Blu and to everyone!
Sherri

This just reinforces why we only do carry ons from Philly to STT.
It is such a joke. At least it was on the way home.

Blu...did you ever get your bags back?

USAir lost our bags on a trip to Fort lauderdale. We would then dry down the keys and into key West.

We have NEVER gotten our bags back. Even though I had tags on the outside and even inside of the luggage.

We ended spending alot of time on our vacation replacing toiletries, clothes, flip flops...just everything. Plus, they were my favorite clothes.

In the end we had to list EVERYTHING and put a price on it so that we could of gotten reimbursed. I much rather would of had my luggage back.

Hi guys,

Hooooray - USAir found our luggage yesterday. It came in on the flight that went through Charlotte later on Saturday evening. I guess the porter didn't get it onto the belt in time. We're just glad to have the bags back. The ladies at the USAir luggage claim office in PHL were very nice and helpful in looking for it when I called on the phone. Kudos to them for being polite and helpful.

I'm convinced that we need a place to store snorkel gear down in STT so we don't have to haul it back and forth. Should have left it there this time. We had a good time snorkeling and introduced two 9 yr olds to snorkeling this time. They were great about it, but insisted on holding hands the entire time. It is really hard to maneuver the coral heads when you are snorkeling 4 across - adults on aeach end and two kids in the middle - all holding hands. However, I had it better than Landlockedbeachlover, who told me that her daughter wanted to snorkel on her back...she said it is awfullly hard to snorkel with a 75 lb kid on your back. I bet it is.

Yes, Sherri did keep up with the Mojitos. She must have been practicing before I arrived - lightweight that she is. 🙂

I really need to get this report going. So much to tell. There's even a really romantic thing about rings and promises on the night of the full moon (July 1). 😉

Hey Pia, going to try to start tonight. You know the trip isn't over til the report is on the board. Maybe I am just prolonging the joy of it all. Plus, the mood had to be right for the report....relaxed enough to relive it all.

WIll try tonight!

Bluwater,
Welcome back! Glad to hear you got your luggage back. Sounds like a good idea to leave snorkel gear in STT, gets harder and harder to fit it in. Can't wait for your trip report sounds very interesting don't leave us all hanging for too long!

Welcome Back!

Snorkeling holding hands? Snorkeling with a kid on your back doesn't sound much fun either! We found it easier to put our kids on cheap floaties and let them lay their head over the end without the pillow on it. Then we could hang onto them and not worry about their feet touching the coral. It works pretty good.

I think I found my retirement job...selling snorkeling equipment locker timeshares, and cheap floaties for families wanting to teach their young to snorkel! 🙂
