We are arriving tomorrow (thank God it is finally here) and are staying at a time share at the Westin. I understand that the "Westin" runs a Ferry from STT to STJ. Is there a cost if you are staying at the Westin?

Yes, there is a cost. but I can't remember what it is or if it's gone up since we have been there. I would call the resort to find out. I think timeshare owners and their guests get a discount. The Westin ferry is a very stress-free way to get to the Westin. It might be a more expensive but its a nice way to go especially if you have children. Do a search on this site or tripadvisor and someone proabably has broken out the cost of taxis ferries,...

Last June we paid about $70 each for a roundtrip. We're timeshare owners, so there is a discount in that amount. I believe the normal cost is somewhere around $90. It includes baggage handling (your bags will be delivered to your room - sometimes they even get there before you), transportation to/from the airport and dock , and unlimited trips back and forth during the week.

Enjoy!

Hi irhyper!

We will be heading to the Westin next week and started our packing today - we can't wait! We are also guests of villa owners. Last year the Westin ferry was $70 for the week. I haven't checked yet to see if the price has gone up, but it is well worth whatever the cost for the convenience.
After you pick up your luggage at the airport, look for the Westin counter to your left and check in. They will register you, take your luggage, and from that point - just relax! They will put you on a shuttle bus which will take you to the Westin ferry. When you arrive at the resort, someone will be waiting (with a rum punch) to take you to your villa in an "Iguana taxi". Your luggage will arrive shortly behind you.
One tip - groceries can be expensive on the island (see previous postings on subject) - so we always bring one suitcase of just food. I'm in the planning stage of what to pack right now!
Also - be sure to go to one of the afternoon iguana feedings - and bring your camera!

Have a wonderful time!
