Hey all..
I booked my Spring BReak with my boyfriend to St. John @the Westin. Last spring break i stayed on St. Thomas and i enjoyed St. John 1000% more. I absolutely adore St. John.

Anyways, we're going on March and I was wondering how the Westin is? Is it nice? And..Im 20 and my boyfriend is 22. Will there be any problems checking in?

And...We really want to go to JVD and Tortola at some point. I've been checking out day exursions. Has anyone ever done these? When did you book, cost? etc? THanks alot!! ANd Happy Holidays 🙂

If you look through past threads on this Board you will find a TON of entries on taking day excursions to the BVIs. In addition to the ferries that go to Tortola and Virgin Gorda (maybe JVD, I don't remember), there are several power and sail charter boat trips that originate from either STT or STJ. So start cruising through the board and have fun!! For what its worth, we took Limnos Charters this past November over to Virgin Gorda to see the Baths, then went snorkling on the way back at Norman Island. We had a ball, great boat and crew, very relaxed, tons of room on the boat, etc.

If you scroll back through the posts you'll find several St. John Trip reports, includin Karri's and mine (canoebase), and they have lots of background infortmation including beaches, trips, places to eat, car rentals and more.

I don't know about the "check-in attitudes"at the Westin. My son and his g/f are your age and on the infrequent occasions they travel, they stay at low-budget places like the Motel 6 and even THEN they sometimes are viewed somewhat suspiciously. (and my son and his g/f are clean-cut college types, just the opposite of what I looked like when I was in college) I looked up Spring Break prices at the Westin and the least expensive ones I could find were $600+ per night. HOLY SMOKE! That's about what I paid for a WEEK at Concordia! So I asked my son what he thought, and he told me that if HE was the desk clerk, HE'D wonder how someone his age could afford to stay there! So, forwarned is forarmed and that's something you might want to deal with before you arrive. Perhaps there's someone on this message board that works there or knows someone that does! And have a GREAT time!

I have stayed at the Westin before, they shouldnt give you a problem when checking in. If they do that would be very rude of them and a good way to lose customers. If you are using a credit card in your name or your bf's name you should be ok. Some people get funny if the credit card is in another persons name and that person isnt there to check in with you. But that can be done, the person just needs to call Westin and let them know. Just know when you check in they ask for a deposit down either in cash or a credit card, and that is for incidentals etc. Have fun, were going back in June possibly July too for 2 weeks.
