For all of the island lovers who are stuck living in the states, what is the first thing you do when you go back to the islands and your plane lands (other than pick up your rental car, check in hotel ,etc)....do you have a ritual?

I always stay at Sapphire and the first thing I do is head to the pool grill bar for a painkiller....or two..or three........to KILL the pain of the winter I have just endured and the fast pace of corporate america trying to KILL me! But, when I sip my first painkiller and look out over to St. John and feel the breeze, I know I am ok a while!

Stop at that yellow food truck on the right side just past the airport and grab a couple of pates. Have that with a heineken at the house and I am in heaven.

plant myself in a stool at the Deep End bar at Tamarind (STX), order a margarita on the rocks, catch up with old friends, stare out at Green Cay and let my mind go numb

After picking up groceries at Starfish, (amply supplied with booze) we load up the rental, crack a couple of beers and drive to the cottage. Then we stand on the deck and look at the beautiful view while listening to some reggae. How great!!

After getting our vehicle at Dependable we rush to the resorte and run, not walk, to the beach and just feel the sand between our toes, hold hands and look out to sea. (this is also the last thing we do before leaving).
