I'm trying to locate an island where people were working carrying boxes of fish in the harbour back around 1989. It could have been a few years earlier or a few years later.

Anyhow, there was this giant man, over 2 meters high, and VERY muscular working there at that time. He was quite well known because he was so huge.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I'm going out on a limb here, with the theory that my friend doesn't remember correctly which island he met this giant man. He said it was St John, but someone here said that the description of "people carrying boxes with fish" doesn't sound like St John at all.

Therefore, I think he might be mistaken and it was St Thomas instead, which he also mentioned.

So, "people carrying boxes with fish" does that sound like it could have happened on St Thomas around 1989? Or does anyone recognize the description of a really tall (around 210 cm) black guy with enormous muscles on St Thomas?

I've lived on STT since 1984 (and worked in the harbor area for 10 years) and none of it rings even the slightest bell!

Really?

Wow, this gets more and more strange. I've heard from people living on St John too, and they didn't recognize it either...

Thanks for letting me know 🙂
