Okay...here's my quandry. We have a villa (Splendore) rented on St. John for 8 days, Saturday thru Sunday. Our anniversary is actually the following Tuesday, but we didn't rent that far in to the following week due to scheduling concerns that have now been alleviated. So we now have 2 or 3 more days of play-time, including the day of our 25th! Do we:
A)Simply rent Splendore for a few more days and call it good?
B)Do 2 or 3 days on St. Thomas (thinking Secret Harbor, Bolongo Bay, or Wyndham Sugar Bay)?
Thought about doing the BVI, but we'll be taking a couple of day trips there from STJ, and it just seemed like too much hassle.
Also...are there any resorts/hotels (other than the Ritz, thank you!) within walking distance of Red Hook? Just thought it'd be nice to stroll down to some evening entertainment.
Thanks in advance!

Dave.

We had a similar situation and decided to spend 2 nights at Secret Harbor, just for some variety and to see what STT is all about. The last on only time I have been to the VI the only thing I saw of STT was from the taxi on the way to the ferry.

Dave: I think that either plan sounds good. With your day trips to the BVI, you can decide where you want to stay there on another trip (or maybe on a sailing adventure!) There is no resort within walking distance of Red Hook for a night time jaunt. Sapphire is the closest, Secret Harbour second but I would not recommend walking. Saw some folks almost get mowed over just this afternoon. Take a cab and stroll around Red Hook. Most people have Dale's old perception of St Thomas; they only see downtown or the road from the cruise ship to the ferry, never get away and see the peaceful, pretty parts!

My money is on Splendore, of course I have a soft spot for STJ. Seriously though, save the time packing and unpacking and take day trips to STT. You'll be able to see quite a lot in the 2 days if you want to dedicate them to STT completely and you'll have 'home' to come back to on STJ.
When we go to the islands, we like to relax and moving around is not our idea of relaxing. We enjoyed having 'home' to come back to on our 25th.
