We are heading to the islands the 20th of Feb. One couple will be arriving the evening of Feb 19th (as long as they get on a flight. They are flying on passes.) The rest of us (2 more couples) will arrive the afternoon of the 20th. We can't check into our villa until the 21st. And our rental car is reserved for the 21st also. (I think we will change that to Friday.) My question is, where is a good place to stay on STT that won't eat up my spending money? We prefer to be somewhere where the drinks flow until the wee hours. We want to stay on STT so we can do grocery shopping Saturday morning before we make it over to STJ. There will be 6 of us and a pool would be nice but not a must. Any suggestions??

When you say, "We prefer to be somewhere where the drinks flow until the wee hours" then I foresee an immediate problem. Neither STT or STJ are truly late-night spots but there are some exceptions and I'll let others answer you where that's concerned.

Where relatively inexpensive accommodations are concerned you can check out Island Beachcomber and Emerald Beach which are on the airport road, both located on a nice beach or Crystal Palace which is above town. Hope this helps. Cheers!

We are all older so wee hours would be 12 -1. We are even opened to stocking a cooler and just hanging out on the beach or by a pool.

I don't know if the locals agree, but when me and my wife visited a couple of years ago we went to Duffy's Love Shack in Redhook a couple of evenings.

We've actually went to Duffy's YEARS ago. And we ate at a really nice place I think it was called Wahoo's. Is it still there?

Off the Hook is the name of the restaurant that now occupies the former Wahoo's site.
