Which is the best Ferry from St Thomas to Road Town?

We're planning to go sailing from Tortola in April, arriving by plane to St Thomas. Which is the best Ferry to take to Road Town from St Thomas?
- Red Hook (St. Thomas) to Road Town (Tortola) or
- Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas) to Road Town (Tortola)?

It really makes not much difference either in time or fare. Shorter taxi ride and longer ferry ride from the Charlotte Amalie terminal; longer taxi ride shorter ferry ride from Red Hook. To avoid traffic congestion and tie-ups I'd be inclined to take the CA ferry which is only a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport.

Without a doubt, CA is much better for trips to BVI. More options, better boats and quicker transit time.

We will be arriving on a Friday: flying into St. Thomas.  Are there different Ferry options that are better than others that go to Road Town?    I like the idea of leaving from CA!
