My friend and I will be traveling in March and we don't know which Island that we should stay on or if it even matters. We are both in our late 20's, single and want to have a really good (safe) time. Which location should we venture to???

Please Help!

Thanks

It depends on what your interests are. St Thomas has more nightlife, especially on the East End or at Yacht Haven Grand near town, but St John has better beaches, and activities with National Park and Maho. St Croix has more history, culture, and hiking/ atv activities. You can stay on STT and go to STJ during the day, but very few people go to STX from STT.

I would say STJ. The island is very safe and I think that it appeals to a wide varierty of people. There are amazing beaches, hiking trails, and a fun and laid back social scene.

I would also say that it will depend greatly on your budget. The prices to stay and eat/drink etc can vary greatly by island, so that will most likely make the final decision for you.

This question is like which of your children do you love? Each island has differences. It depends on what you want. If you want to be alone then STJ. If you want a bigger island than STX. If you want a mix then STT. I live on STT and go to STJ often. I find that Sapphire beach is perfect. But that is my choice. You need to make up yours.

Don't forget Water Island. No hotels--but several nice houses for rent. Houses usually come with golf cart for use on the island. Very safe island, very nice beaches. No real night life--except movie on the beach on Mondays and Joe's bar on Honeymoon Beach in the evening. Great location for relaxing vacation. Easy to get to St Thomas for shopping and dining. Take a look at VRBO and vinow for housing information.

budget is a big consideration, safety is as well. stay together where ever you go. Lots of fun on all islands. STX has more variety, but definitely need to rent a car (they drive on the left). STT is touristy... lots of shopping. STJ- lots of nature! good luck!
