We were on STJ last week. Were shopping, inadvertently left all my treasures in a shopping bag on a stone wall between Margarita Phil's and Morgan's Mango. Returned 4 hours later and it was right where I left it.

Good for you, suzanne. I just recently tried to explain to someone what STJ was like to someone who has never been there...
Most of the people are bewilderedly walking around, constantly remarking how beautiful everything is with relaxed shoulders, and big "cat who ate the canary" smiles. Maybe it was overlooked, maybe not. Where I'm sure there's theft from time to time, happy you got the "clean getaway"!
Cheers-
MJ

Me too! Did a wedding on Magen's Bay Beach, the bride set her bad down on the beach for some photo taking before the ceremony and proceeded to forget about it. When we went to leave, we could not find it! We thought for sure her bag had been stolen and reported it to the police that were stationed at the beach upon our departure. They received her purse in the mail a week after their return complete with MONEY!!!!! Yes, not is all bad with the world!
The other day, I was doing an arrival for a villa and my guests had forgotten their DVD player complete with DVD's at the airport. Went back an hour later and found it, right where they had set it down! (tu)

With everyone always posting about crime and is it safe - thanks suzanne - your story is much more what I have experienced in the islands in the last 30 years

Just to follow up to Suzanne....on our honeymoon, my wife the dive box (where we keep our room key, cc, cash, etc.) next to the Jeep when we pulled on the side of the road to take a picture....we were 3/4 of the way to the beach by waterlemon when we realized we didn't have it.

By the time we got back to town and filled out a report at the police station (in the event someone found it) we had a message on our voicemail at the Westin from the person who found it and returned it to the front desk.
