Sounds like the perfect place for us next October. You've allayed any concerns I've had about safety and going in the month of October. Sounds like a great time and I think Coral Bay is the place we need to base ourselves. I'm certainly going to purchase insurance (although I do have to tell you, I got caught in the Northeast snowstorms a few weeks ago with flights canceled for which I had insurance and am having a terrible time collecting on that insurance - hopefully it's Travelocity's insurance issues and things will be easier with anothe company - but they have certainly made it difficult to collect!).

Now the fun starts with choosing a cottage and looking forward to our trip. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions as we prepare, but thank you all very much for all your help!

Nancy

Nancy,

I need to add a little more about restaurants in Coral Bay in October. When we were their in September a few years ago, we able to eat at our favorites at least once before they closed. Today, while checking my file for our May trip, I found the list we used about the closings. Since with my AT&T cell I have free calls to St. John, I called and asked when their closings would be this year. Hear is what I was told: Miss Lucy's will be closing in July and reopening Nov. 7th. Shipwreck will be closed in September and October. Island Blues may not close at all. Skinny Legs will be closed in September. Sweet Plantains will likely be closed some of September, October, and part of November. Donkey Diner likely all of September and a portion of October. Aqua Bistro will be closing for September.
