I moved back to America in 2002, and every heartbeat of a momet I MISS! MISS! MISS! my life in the US Virgin Islands. Does anybody remember Priscilla Lynn of PrisCo Consulting? That's me, stuck here in Connecticut, USA. I've sort of lost touch with many of the USVI friends I made throughout the 11 years there, so if you read this and I haven't been in touch with you, get in touch with me. I long to move back, do you? Tell me how you cope with an "island heart" and a "stateside body". Priscilla

X-USVIer, I'm sorry that I don't remember you, but, here are some things that will make you feel like home. Tyler and Megan and Stepho at Gecko, little Michael is now like 9. Kim is still doing Pampered Pause. Life is still the same, we make friends, they leave, we adjust to the loss and appreciate that we had those people in our lives for the period of time that they were here. Life is different since you left, but in the same token still the same. Much of the landscape has changed, but the reason we all live in St. John is still here. We love, we laugh, we dance on bars. Just appreciate the fact that you were able to live here, many people dream about it, but we did it, if not forever, but we did it.............

Love to you

I remember Prisco.
Do you come back for vacation?
Some of people you knew while living here might still live here; so maybe reply with some names and folks can let you know if they know them and if they are still here. Perhaps you could then get in touch and catch up.

It's good to be remembered :-). Thanks for the reply and good thoughts. I did visit again a few months ago and stayed with my best friend Captain Sharee Winslow--she's been there her whole life. I had a wonderful but way too short visit and I'm hankering to return soon. The islands came back into my life recently when another friend of mine - this one from St Croix - "found" me right here in Milford, CT. I had gotten out of touch with her in the past few years. She's here pursuing her acting career in NYC and found my PrisCo Consulting listing the Milford Chamber of Commerce directory - imagine that! Now she's my "housemate" and we're having a ball. But being around this island gal just makes me want to be back in my islands all the more. sigh....:-(does anybody know a business that might need my services in the USVI? see www.priscopr.com for info. ciao for now. Priscilla Lynn

Hello Tyler, Megan and Stepho: some of my best USVI memories are from my times in STJ. Thanks for the reply and good happy thoughts. I'm still in business in the USA as PrisCo Consulting (www.priscopr.com) same as what I was doing there. But nothing else is the same....sigh 🙁 and now it's getting brrrrrrrr brrrrrr COLD here in Milford, Connecticut. Anybody know anybody who needs some pr and marketing services in the USVI? I did visit a few months ago, but only had time for STT, hoping to go back again for a more extended stay in Jan or Feb. this time will defiitely get to STJ and STX and try and reconnect with friends etc. and make new friends. Keep in touch you guys are great! 😎 Priscilla Lynn stuck for now in cold old Connecticut.

😎 Thanks for the reply and thoughts.:D Kevin the Pizza Man.. I do not know anybody that might be able to help you out with a summer stay, but I'll inquire around. It helps to know I'm not the only one missing de islands. Keep in touch and let me know if you move back permanently. Priss8-)

:-)Hello!! Have yet to live there but plan on making the move in June 2013. The waiting is killing me :-X!! We were in STT for 9 days last April, fell in love with STJ, think about it daily. Left my heart there. Took the ferry over to Jos and missed the ferry back drinking rum with Ivan. Good Times, Great People. Love the Island way of life. So tired of California. Why are we waiting? Have a 13 year old from 1st marriage, want to wait till she is 18 before moving. So here I sit :-(. Plan on coming down twice next year, more if we can. Maybe by then you'll be back down there too, hopefully sooner for you if thats what your heart desires.

Hey Dulcey: now, that's a PLAN gal! I actually was looking forward at my calendar and in a moment of sheer frustration and desire to return to live again in "de islands" I wrote on Dec. 21st, 2008 "move back to the USVI Jan 2009". Well the way life's going here in "America" that's not going to happen. Yet still not a day goes by that I don't wish that I were there instead of here. Right now a friend of mine from St. Croix is on an extended visit staying with me here in Milford - her family is originally from CT. She's leaving the end of this month and I'll miss the little "island gal". We did get to talk about the STX days a lot, though. Oh well, enjoy your viists there, that's what I'm going to try and do - just go visit when I can - as often as I can. Sigh...... Priscilla

I'm on the longterm island move myself. We did by a place last year and visit as often as we can. We spent 6 weeks this summer renovating our place and also took a way too short trip in September. I have a 10 year old and a 13 year old so I am playing the waiting game myself. We rent our place out for the time being and it has turned out to be a good investment in these crazy financial times we are in. I wish we would have pulled more out of the stock market, oh well.

I check this forum daily and get a "quick fix" of the islands visiting the Magens Bay and Chocolate Hole webcams. Our property is in STT but eventually we plan on buying a place in STJ when we finally make our move.

I've met some great friends on the island and we stay in contact regularly. I've also gotten to be great friends with our tenants and I get regular emails of how my new landscaping is coming along or anything else of interest.

Best wishes to all,

Molly

Me too! Right after I graduated college I lived on STX .......it was many many moons ago and LOVED it! I had way too much fun and had to get off the island and use that 4 year degree that i was beginning to start payments on!
Well my two kids are 18 and 19 and I am READY to come back there!!! This time with some money and a pension!
I have visited several times and wanted to stay on not get on that plane. there was even a time I was on a cruise and we went to STT. On the way out of there I looked over the side of the boat and really thought to myself" I could swim from here"
One day soon!
i live in STX in 1981 and worked at the Moonraker Bar and Lodge Hotel right in C'sted. Lived in La CASA LOCO ( it was) and was great friends with Lisa Penfield Edwards who was a champion windsurfer that made it to the Olympics! traveled all over the islands with freinds that I met and just lost touch with over the years..saw Lisa in PR 2 years ago and can not wait to get back....
to the original poster of this topic...." I FEEL "YA FOR SURE"

Geez, I have not checked this blog in a long time, and just encountered your posting. Why don't you keep in contact with me via [email protected] as I'm still desiring to move back to the USVI in the not-too-distant-future. Meanwhile also visit www.priscopr.com and www.happinessclubmilford.ning.com to discover more about me. Priscilla Lynn, body residing in Milford Connecticut but heart still in the USVI.
