Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share my views of our new Yacht Haven Grande, STT.

Decided to go to someplace new for dinner as I try to keep up to date with what is out there! Part of my job is to recommend restaurants, etc., so off we went to Yacht Haven. I really didn't know what was going to be available, I knew of the restaurant Wikked, but had heard there was other places available. We ended up eating at Fat Turtle and had a wonderful meal. Nice setting, great atmosphere, and even good food! I was very impressed with the restaurant itself meaning its appearance and decided to go for a walk around the premises after dinner. WOW!
What a wonderful, beautiful place! Very nicely done and must see for everyone! They even had a little grotto, that I will return and take some pics. of. Who knows, we are building, there was some awesome ideas! Not to worry, I won't copy them, just get some idea's!
They have everything! Shops, at least 3 restaurants, Ben and Jerry's, and what looked to be a nice vendor area!
I was very impressed!
Hope you all ck it out the next time you are here!

SoCaTraveler,
Have only been once and they have only been open for up to 4 weeks, so they are perfecting things still! I had a Beef Brisket sandwich with a carrot coleslaw with ginger in it, very different, but refreshing and good! I did run into a problem of the coleslaw running into the bread of the Texas toast sandwich and told them that this dilemma needs to be solved!! I ate it open faced instead of being able to pick it up! If you order this, ask for the slaw to be put in a separate container! Jeff had a Burger and steak fries, he's pretty predictable that way and tho we like to try all restaurants, we usually stick with more casual places. They have several frozen drinks (about 10 or so) and you get a pin to match the color of the drink, once you have collected ALL of the pins for each drink, you then win a prize! Not sure what it is, but it would be fun trying to do it!!!!! I would imagine they would have their menu posted on-line, if not yet, soon! We loved the atmosphere, and surroundings! In the bar area, they had a rock ceiling which I loved and may now do in the lower level of my house and they also had an under the water Murial with glass in front with bubbles going up! This I also loved, a way to have an aquarium with out the work! At night they have a wavy light in the bar which gives you an impression that you are under the water! We will go back for sure!
Besides I have to collect of my pins! Jeff loves it when I drink! 🙂

It's at the head of the Cruise Ship dock or to the right of Wendy's! It's always been named Yacht Haven, only it had been damaged in Hurricane Marilyn in 1995 and nothing had ever come of it until now. What an improvement! 🙂

I second Sherri's recommendation of Fat Turtle. Had dinner there last Sunday night - I enjoyed the brisket and the sides, including cole slaw in a separate bowl, my friend had the pulled pork. Both were terrific, but the mango cobbler dessert which we shared was a little slice of heaven in a dish! Be sure to save some room for that! Service was also pretty good, and the surroundings, as the sun was setting, was just wonderful. Definitely check it out!
