All the restaurants are now being opened by new owners, as the management of Yacht Haven chooses not to run them themselves anymore. Therefore, the jury will be out for the next few weeks on them all!

So Ron, What are you saying? I am guessing that Fat Turtle, Wikked, and Grande Cru are all open aren't they?
I have been to the First two I have named, tho not in a while. Grande Cru is finer dining and is too glitzy for me.
Fill me in!

Wikked has a new menu posted in yesterday's paper, and to me, it sounds much better than previous. They list: pan seared red snapper w/pumpkin cho cho risotto, locally caught mahi wrapped in thinly sliced yukon gold potatoes and fresh herbs, pan roasted mango salmon w/mango chutney, sweet potato au gratin and herb corn meal, double smoked beef brisket, grilled tandoori tofu, curried lentil loaf, and organic seitan roast. There was never anything on their old menu that enticed me, but I'll probably try all these new ones!

Grande Cru hasn't re-opened. Fat Turtle originally opened as a barbeque place, but their current menu is more casual continental. They need better iced tea.

Oh, no! I loved the Cuban sandwich (with pickle) at Wikked. I suppose that's gone.

Yes, I loved that Cubano as well! I hear that Pat La Corte from Oceana was signing on the dotted line for Grand Cru yesterday. Clovis Tobias, one of the original guys in the Yacht Haven Grande set up, now has Fat Turtle. He told me yesterday that a guy named Carl, can't remember the last name, took over Wikked.

Well, I'm not a sandwich person, but I passed by there today and took a look at the full, posted menu. There were lots of sandwiches on the brunch/lunch menu, and I'm pretty sure there's some Cuban something or other, so hopefully for you Cuban fans, you'll still be able to get your fix! The menu posted in the paper must have been their dinner menu.

360 is in a state of limbo.....so the story goes, 360 won't open UNTIL the boutique hotel scheduled for YHG is done first. Challenge is that no outside company wants to partner for any construction. 360 has just the shell completed, nothing else. Too bad.

I think that YHG is in for some VERY difficult times over the next few years. We will see but I don't see 360 opening with the finances of YHG.

It has to be some sort of improvement though. They all seemed to be just shy of their potential. The new menu looks nice. Personally, if I want a Cuban, I will get it from Tropical Deli. Better roast pork, made correctly, and cheaper too. Grande Cru was nice. We'll see how it goes.

Ronnie,

Does that mean Brian Katz is no longer involved in any of the restaurants?

Perfection is my answer!! The fish was incredible .We will be there New Years Eve. On another note.. YHG is having their party with DJ and 2 Bands, fireworks and same type party as last year. We heard its $40 in advance and $50 at door.Last year was so much fun ...hopefully they will have the same band and more potties.
