Virgin Islands - Bring the Kids

Children adore the beaches in the Virgin Islands. Visitors with children and local children alike can be found building sand castles, splashing in the water, rolling in the sand and sharing beach toys while making new friends. Most beaches in the Virgin Islands are calm. The depth of the waters starts shallow and slowly deepens. These conditions are ideal for children. Many beaches have beach toy rentals. They also have snorkeling gear and water sports equipment for older children.

Snorkeling is a fun activity for the whole family. Children and adults will be amazed at the brightly colored underwater animals they will see. Children can go kayaking or parasailing, take a descent on a submarine or go sailing. Older children may want to learn to windsurf or scuba dive.

Windsurfing and scuba lessons are available at hotels with beach water sports concessions.
