Are there special acitivies for the 4th of July in Cruz Bay? We are considering going to St John for the week of July 4, 2004 and was wondering what type of activities they might have.

July 4th is typically the end of Carnival in St. John. This year as the 4th was on a Sunday it was held on Monday. There is a parade, fireworks and the last night of Carnival Village which means lots of food, drinks and music.
It's a great day!

St. John was lots of fun during Carnival and I took a few hundred pix of the parade, some are even good. Islander was there taking photographs rather than pictures. Perhaps some will be posted.

We are trying to decide beween June 11-June 25 and June 25 - July 9. Would you recommend going during the Carnvale time?

Hello Diana,

You might read a little about Carnival on this site and check out the photo slide show... see if the event interest you. Cut and Paste the following link:

You would be on island for a few of the events during June 11-25th... a few of the pagents and some concerts perhaps. If you visited between the 25th-9th you would definately catch some music in the village, likely the foodfair, the parage and fireworks.
