Here's a favorite of mine:

Good introduction to driving on STJ. Also a good answer to any questions about needing 4wd.

These are great!

LOL @ the mountain drive on STJ. We were in the back of a taxi truck going around STJ and I thought we were going to die! LOL Not really, but it was an experience. 😉

Lex: That's a great clip - we're planning on bringing our rental car over from St Thomas when we're there next month, so that we can explore (just snorkelling) St. John. Are the beaches far apart from each other, and can you recommend a good map for knowing where to go to snorkel on the day we are there? Thanks!

Most beaches on STJ are worth a snorkel. One of the wonderful features of the island is how much good snorkeling there is right off the beaches. The island isn't very large and some beaches are quite close to one another---sometimes just around a point. You might want to pick up a guidebook. We use both "Feet, Fins & 4wd" and "St John: Off the Beaten Track".

Here's a website that you may find helpful: http://stjohnbeachguide.com/

And here's a site that has a useful map: http://www.virgin.islands.national-park.com/map.htm
