I was wondering if anybody can suggest the best way to book an excursion like snorkeling to St. John. Is it cheaper to do it on line or do it through the hotel that u are staying at. We plan on staying at the Wyndham Resort and want to get off the island and do some sightseeing. Snorkeling, shopping, dining, beaches are the plan. Any ideas on the best snorkeling and does anybody think that point pleasant would be worth going to? Is it true that everything pretty much locks up around 5:00 in town? Id llike to hear of others ideas and experiences with Wyndham and excursions you have been on. Ive had alot of luck with this forum and i thank you.

Unless you want to do a sailing/catamaran type tour, just grab a taxi to Red Hook, take the ferry to STJ ($5.00 per person each way ) and then either rent a car (approx $70 per day) or grab a taxi to one (or more) of the beaches on STJ - good snorkeling at Hawksnest, Jumbie, Cinnamon, Trunk (of course but check the cruise ship schedule before you go or go late afternoon) Francis, Maho - in fact all of them 🙂

The last ferry to STT leaves at 11pm so you can even stay for dinner
