Often people refer to the problem with the "illegals" coming into the VI. On STJ hikers sometimes come upon piles of clothing left there by "illegals" who have come ashore at some of the more remote beaches. Here's a story that puts a face on one tragic "illegal":

That is one of the saddest things I have ever read. Where is that church where they baby was found? I'm wondering which beach they landed upon. The people who pulled the funeral together are heroes.
I felt the same way Bluwater did. I read it last night and told my husband about it this morning. It seems like an impossible situation. Keep supporting charities that help these people and don't forget we have the power of prayer.
How unbelievably tragic and sad. Makes one's eyes open to how many things we take for granted and how truly fortunate a lot of us are. My heart aches for that poor mother. Makes me want to grab my kids and not let them go.
How absolutely tragic. I can't even begin to imagine the mother's pain yet have much gratitude for those who took care of the child's funeral. Good people on St. Thomas..
In today's Daily News there was a story about contributing to a fund for the mother of the little girl who died. I can't find the link online, but if anyone is interested in contributing to the fund, money can be sent to:
Attorney Tom Bolt and Associates Escrow;
Corporate Place
5600 Royal Dane Mall
St Thomas VI 00802
or for more information, call:
340-774-2944
The Frenchtown Evangelistic Assembly donated $1000 during last Sunday's service.
Maybe someone else can find the link to the story online
