We won't be going to St. John until April, 2006 - but, planning ahead.

We got a taste of Jost Van Dyke's Soggy Dollar & White Bay on our trip this past April on New Horizons II.

We definitely want to get back to Soggy Dollar & we are interested in checking out Foxy's or Foxy's Taboo. Can anyone tell us what the difference is between the two Foxy's?

Also, has anyone been to Bubbly Pool?? Is it worth checking out?? It looks pretty neat.

Also, I see that the Ferry only runs Fri, Sat & Sun. By taking the ferry it appears that we would be on the island from about 9 - 3.

Again, we don't know if we would or could have more time on the island if we took another type of excursion. Also, because of our schedule, it looks like Sunday would be the only day that we could take the ferry & not quite sure that is how we want to spend our first day on St. John. (Sorry for the rambling)

We look forward to any advice you could give us!

Sue

I have been reading this post and we are also looking for this type of a day trip - Spending most time on Jost.

Last year we did a trip on the Blast out of the Westin, I think Cruz Bay Water Sports. It was a GREAT trip but this year we are looking for a little more time on JVD.

Please post what you end up doing. I am looking for more options for our trip.

We will be on St John Apr 29 - May 6.

Thanks!

so i'm new, but have been reading non-stop. Mom and I (ages 57 and 24) are doing a total last minute thing (leaving 4/25 and booked yesterday!) but it sounds like we definetly want to do the Horizons II day trip? is it not too crowded? we are staying on STT but will do a couple of days on STJ, anything else a must do/see. We are big snorkelers/divers so i have taken all the notes on which beaches are best. can one of you locals/regulars recomend a good dive shop? mom is a little timid and needs to feel REALLY comfortable with the guide. thanks for any help you can give.

I thought this was a great guide that I found online. It printed out small for us so we enlarged in on copy machine and I laminated it.

People have recommended renting a dingy for 1/2 or full day to hop from beach to beach and snorkel some of the surrounding cays.

My wife and I loved NHII. Couldn't say enough about the how great the trip was this February. The boat holds 16 - we had 11, very comfortable. the sights were fantastic and the crew of 2 was more than adequate. Book online and save 10%.
