Hey all! I am using a different log in name but I was here years ago with many comments about my trips to STJ- now I have a couple of questions for those of you who have been recently since Hubbie and I plan a return trip in early December:

1) is Fred's on STJ closed? If so, what is Larry's Landing like for evening dancin' music- once in a while or frequently?

2) what is the name of the boat in the BVIs that is a bar and if the girls jump off topless, they get a tshirt or something. Hubbie has wanted to go here for years and I don't think I can put him off any longer. How do you get there?

3) recent visitors to the eco-tent cabins at Concordia- what is your impression of the new tents? We went 5 years ago there and I found the tents very nice but buggy (despite gallons of spray) and I couldn't reach the light switches. Have there been any improvements?

That's it for now. We can't wait to return. We have tried St Martin and Mexico but nothing beats STJ IMHO. Thanks from (former) Karrieb and Hubbie

The BVI boat you are thinking about is the Willie T at Norman Island. Due to several very unfortunate mishaps, jumping is not allowed anymore. You get there by boat.

1. Freds is still there:-)
2. Willie T is there but you can no longer jump 🙁 and you need a boat to get there
3. I have no stayed there but I have read some reviews recently and no one complained about bugs, so maybe they solved the problem. I will try and track down the reviews for you

We stayed at Concordia in Feb and had no problems with bugs.I don't remember a problem with the light switches so maybe that has changed. I understand that Feb is really not a buggy time so that could have something to do with it. We really enjoyed our stay there and will return. If you haven't been there in 5 years you haven't been to the Tourist trap. It is at the end of the drive to Concordia. It's a great place with good food and Larry is good company.

Thanks for the comments all, much appreciated! :-)Woogawooga I remember you too since you have the coolest name going! I won't be 'here" much, just too busy with work and just need the occasional update about STJ. I can't believe it'll be our 6th or 7th trip and I'm already counting the days! We will check out the Tourist Trap and Crazy Crackers since Hubbie is happiest when he's dancing to a DJ. We' re heading for Gloucester Mass this Friday after work to hear Inner Visions- may not see them at Fred's but at least we can see them up here in Mass!
