Has anyone ever stayed at either Mafolie Hotel or Point Pleasant Resort? Which(room) would you recommend for a quick trip?

I see no takers for comments on Mafolie or Point Pleasant how about Holiday on Veterans Drive? The rates are reasonable.
Thank you

Ingrid,
We are staying at the Crystal Palace B&B tomorrow night. It's a reasonable price, and the pictures of it look great! If you are going just for a quick stay, this might be worth checking out.

Ingrid:

I stayed at Point Pleasant in April 2004 and loved it so much that I purchased a villa (suite) there. We visit 3 times a year (going back in December).

It's a beautiful property...visit their web-site at www.pointpleasantresort.com and look at the pictures. Actually the unit pictured with the couple on the balcony is my unit. If you book do it directly with the property for a better rate.

If you go get a superior suite on the top of the hill. I've noticed that the lower units don't have as good a view. Also, the property is very "hilly". Be prepared to walk a little...it's great exercise. There are 3 beautiful pools (just renovated), 2 restaurants (Fungi's is great) and a very secluded (but small) beach called Sugar Beach.

The property provides shuttle service to and from the beach so you don't need to walk long distances.

One note: I highly recommend that you rent a car. This way you won't need to rely on taxis and can visit many other beaches, as well.

The restaurants at Point Pleasant do not serve breakfast (I'm working on that). So buy your breakfast supplies at the Marina Market in Red Hook (just up the road) and enjoy your morning coffee on the wrap around balcony with the incredible view. The property provides a complimentary package of coffee and a bottle of rum. (Or, just bring a box of donuts with you.)

Have a great trip.

F.I.

P.S. No, my villa is not for sale (lol).
