We are going to be staying in Cottage 10 at Cinnamon Bay Campground the last week of August. Is this a good time to be visiting St. John? Any info for this time of year would be appreciated.

Cinnamon Bay is fun, but take LOTS of bug spray (and run up to see Maho if it still exists). As I recall, there were really good hamburgers at the food shack. And when they say to keep bread/food in a chest, they mean it. We still laugh about leaving a grocery bag with bread on the floor and finding it completely devoured by the mongoose. There is everything to love about St. John!

Was there just last week. Cottages 10a, b, c, d are the 4 best locations, right on the beach. Lucky you.
Yes, do bring lots of Off spray and Hydrocortisone or Cortaid for mosquito bites. Also a flashlight.
The beach in front is very beautiful, you can also go to little Cinnamon. You can walk around the rocks on your left or walk thru a broken gate to a small trail that will lead you to little cinnamon.
Expect short bursts of rains almost every day, especially around 5PM. But you will have plenty of sunshine.
There are taxis available to take you to Cruz Bay or to the other beaches.

Have fun.
