Unfortunately, we can only book a room for one night at the Westin, which beach is the better choice, Cinnamon or Trunk Bay?

If you never been to either of them before, I would suggest Trunk.

I would try Coconut Coast Villas and stay for longer.

As for beaches and one day...

Waterlemon Cay/Leinster Bay if Snorkeling is objective with vehicle

Salomon Bay/Honeymoon if you have no vehicle (Short Hike from Cruz Bay) or taxi to Caneel and walk back to Honeymoon it is even a shorter walk and flat.

Cinnamon is free, Trunk has a fee. Trunk has an "underwater snorkel trail" but also will get alot of people when big cruise ships come into STT...

If I had to pick one of the two I'd vote for Cinnamon. If I had the chance to vote for another beach, I'd have to pick Gibney/Oppenheimer.

It is hard to find a "bad beach" on St John. We like Jumbie as well. Not many people there due to the VERY LIMITED parking.

I would choose Trunk Bay of the two especially if you get there early. If you are visiting only one beach on StJ and are staying at the Westin without a car I would taxi into Cruz Bay, pick up some lunch and drinks for my cooler at Mongoose Junction and hike the Lind Point trail to Soloman Beach for the day. It is an easy hike and you will know that it is well worth the walk when you get there.

Both are beautiful. They are close together so maybe you could do both. If it is a cruise ship day,Trunk will be busier. For a couple of years I skipped Trunk but now we like to go there at least once. Trunk has food available and drinks and the food stand is close to the beach. I think Cinnamon Bay might have some food but not sure and the food area is further from the beach. All the beaches are absolutely beautiful, but these have the longest beaches and for just one day you might want this. Maybe you could stay longer.

I would go to trunk bay early in the morning before the crowds get there around 10 am then leave and go to cinnamon bay or enjoy trunk bay since you've already staked your claim on the beach. if you will have a jeep I would go to at least one of the other beaches...

I agree with the posts proclaiming the thought of going to both places. Spend the morning at one and the afternoon at the next. Really doesn't matter which one, but if you are taking a taxi it makes sense to go to Cinnamon first then work your way back to Cruz Bay by stopping at Trunk on the way back.

Both are outstanding beaches. It would be a shame to not stop at Trunk as it's one of the world's famous beaches. Always great to know you stood/swam there!

Good Luck! Have Fun!

Trunk is nice but Cinnamon is better in my humble opinion
