I will be staying near Coral Bay on STJ first weekend in April. I've been to Cruz bay and trunk bay. Looking for dining recommendations and perhaps other beach ideas other then Trunk. Thanks

I stayed near Coral Bay last April and loved the entire experience of St John. I remember enjoying meals at Shipwreck Landing and Sweet Plantains. We didn't care for the popular Skinny Legs, perhaps because of the baseball game everyone else was lapping up. Maybe we'd have enjoyed it some other time. As far as beaches, our favorite was Jumbie Bay. It's quite small and not well marked on the road, but its small scale appealed to us ( http://www.stjohnbeachguide.com/Jumbie.htm).

Have a great time!

Tom

Love Aqua Bistro for drinks & people watching, limin' anytime of day,- one of my top 3 favorite bars on island.
Love Shipwreck Island- great swanky ambience & conch fritters to die for.
Skinny's for good sandwiches, usually there for a lunch or two during the week .
Island Blues can be fun, but I've never had a meal good enough to write home about. Gets jumping there at night.
You can also go East out to Vie's and/ or Hansen Bay/Beach. WAY quiet & mellow out there, very relaxing. She charges @ $2.00 pp to cross her land to get to the beach, but beach chairs are provided, and if her snack shack is open, cold drinks & good food is right there.
If you're hitting Francis, Waterlemon, or Maho towards the North, bring a hoagie & drinks from Big Ben's deli in Coccoloba and you'll be set for a few hours. Be prepared to make several stops at the Smoothie Stand- rum filled smoothies made with fresh locally grown tropical fruit.
If you're heading South to Saltpond you can hit The Tourist Trap for an outdoor super casual lunch & GREAT drinks.
You're gonna' have a blast, lots of great places for really good food, and the only thing more delicious are those wonderful beaches!
Smiles-
MJ
