Well, you could make a left out of the airport instead of a right and go up 30 past the University and make a right on 301 and follow that all the way to 33 which will take you along the middle of the island and from there you can take 35 back down to the southern part of the island or take 35 to 40 which will take you to 42 and then to 38 and to the East end of the island. Did you follow all of that? Where are you trying to get to? It may be just as quick to go through town even though you'll be stoping and starting.

you may be right.I looked at the old maps i have and saw ways to get around. But i figured tha the locals might have faster ways to get around(they live there)so is the way your saying involve alot up mountains? is that why it may be better to just go through?

Lots of people have shortcuts around town, but unless you're familiar with where you're going it's difficult to tell you how to go. There are quite a few one way streets and such which aren't always marked, you just kind of have to know where you're going. Yes, I'm on STT. I drive from the northwest to the southeast everyday and back through town and to Nisky in the afternoon to pick up mail before going back to my house which is on the northwest part of the island. If you want to avoid town you'll be on plenty of mountain roads.
