I was reading about diving in STT that the best time is summer and fall because of visibility and currents. Is December not going to be a very good month to dive and which dive center do you recommend?

Thanks

Considering that "summer and fall" are during hurricane season the chances of less visibility and currents is actually greater then. The return of the Trade Winds in December (the "Christmas Winds") can affect some areas but the dive shops are well familiar with local waters and know where to go at any particular time. I recommend Red Hook Dive Center in Red Hook (and with a desk at Sugar Bay resort), Aqua Action at Secret Harbour, and Coki Dive Shop at Coki Beach.

We went last December on a snorkel trip and it was very cold, but if you are diving you will have wetsuits. We dove with Travis at Redhook Dive Center in September and had a fabulous time. He was great to work with us as we went down and I had issues with my ears. He took his time and made sure everyone was very safe! On top of that, they are just a really fun crew and will be sure to show you a great time!

Thanks for the info. Red Hook is who I was leaning towards. Is it close to the Elysian?

Very close - a five minute drive.

Yep! We stayed at the Elysian last time and dove with Redhook. Sounds like you have the right idea!
