No work, no bills, no traffic jams on the highway, no lawn to mow, no deadlines

How could it not be good?

Why did you not list the things you came for? Did the water go away! Did the warm nights turn cold? Did the music stop playing? The things you mentioned are just things that are out of your control.

DEAL WITH IT AND MOVE ON TO WHY YOU CAME!

First lesson.

Go easy on them! 😛

Always try to make the best of everything! When the power goes out at night, light a candle, or sit outside and enjoy the sounds. I did a Wedding late yesterday, the rain stopped and it was beautiful! We were unsure of what was going to take place, but we new we were going to enjoy it regardless! Enjoy yourself, each moment as it is!

As with any vacation and most things in life come to think of it...

it is what you make of it.

Trust me, the USVI will do its part.

My family (all women ages 19, 22, 24 & 48) and I will be in St. Thomas on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 and will be on a cruise. I'm so confused as to what shore excursion, what beach to visit, should I book on my own, maybe go through someone like AIR FORCE 1 FUN, or GODFREY, or use a taxi to get around, etc. Do any locals have any suggestions on the beaches? We're going to be there from 10 am - 8 pm and I'd prefer not to HAVE a limited time to shop or stay at just one beach a certain time. We'd like the freedom to shop & go to a couple different beaches on our own time, but just not sure. I've also read some reviews that it is cheaper to rent a car, but would that be feasible for only 1 day? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brenda,
I would suggest you start a new thread for your questions as you may get more response. This is a different subject!
I would suggest making your own plans for sure, the ship gets a cut of any excursions they plan, so it will be cheeper if you do it.
On the car thing, people have rented as well as hired a driver, not sure which would be cheeper in this case for one day. Contact airforce 1 and find out what he would charge for a day of taking you were YOU want to go and then find out how much a car is for the day! That will help.
Suggestions:
shopping in town where there is history to be seen at the same time!
Beaches: Magens, Smith Bay, Secret Harbor, Sapphire, and Coki. Ship people will mostly go to Magens and Coki. If you want to be different Sapphire and Secret Harbor would be my choices!
Hope this helps!
ps- We drive on the LEFT!
