Does the ferry normally run just on F,S,S in October? If that is true are there other ways to go to Jost for the day?

The ferry schedule is linked under "Quick Links" top right this page and I would call the ferry company directly to see if they plan on any cutbacks in service during October. Dolphin Water Taxi does a run to Jost which is affordable at $110 and which you could check on:

Yes, I realize the ferry schedule is listed in quick links (already looked at it), but I am assuming they will change it for October. They usually do. I was looking for for someone with insight of what they usually do in October during low season.

That's why I suggested calling the ferry operator directly - their number is listed on the schedule. And Dolphin is an alternative if the regular ferry service is cut back.

I called earlier...they were not much help. Does anyone know what the ferries have done in the past during low season going to Jost? I was thinking they cut it back to only on weekends. I will consider Dolphin if the ferry is not running, but it is more expensive and it looks like they have to have enough people to warrant the trip so it would not be a guarantee either. I can't imagine a trip to St John without a day trip to Jost. 🙁

I just called them myself and they said the schedule as listed remains the same during September and October and there are no plans to reduce it.

So you called and they told you exactly what they told STT? Short of a written guarantee that's as good as it gets. You're worrying too much. And if things change, don't let that spoil your trip.

Linda J, Actually, They did not tell me the same thing they told Stt resident If they would have then I never would started this question on here. The ferry lady that I talked to first quoted the recent ferry schedule and then I asked her if it would change in October. She was very wishy washy and then when I questioned more, she asked someone else and they were kinda wishy washy about it also. They said they didn't know if it would change or not. Trust me...I have been to St John enough to know how things work and that nothing is a 100% guarantee, but that is also why we love it. Again...I was only asking the advice of experienced people who are familiar with the way they normally handle the ferry schedule during low seasons (October) in the past. Feeling that I need to explain myself...I am not worrying it is just that Jost is very much part of our St John trip. I am so hoping we will be able to take the ferry over if not we will find another way. :@)

You could always e-mail Tessa at Foxy's in Jost to see what she has to say?

Here's a link to beach bars in the BVI!
