Good Morning, I am coming to the USVI for the first time this December and I'm very excited, as well as anxious. I booked a beachfront studio at Secret Harbor, and I'm hoping I made a good choice. My fiance has never been to the carribean. So I wanted a room where she could step out of the room and onto the beach. Secret harbor seems to fit the bill. It also looks like a great location. Being close to Red Hook was important for we plan on spending a lot of time on St. John. Airline logistics is the only reason were not staying there. If anyone has any pointers or suggestions I would be very greatfull. And if anyone has a review of Secret Harbor that would also be usefull. Thank you for your time, Quig

Hello Quig,

You made a good choice. There are lots of favorable reviews of Secret Harbor on this board; you can do a search for them using the search feature and changing the date range. The beach there is quite nice. Suggestions: visit a few beaches, try different restaurants, go over to St. John for a day, take a look at the events calendar on this site closer to December and see if there are any Christmas events going on like steel pan concerts or extended shopping hours with live entertainment at the shopping areas and enjoy!

Hi
You will love Secret Harbor. They are really friendly there not that the whole island isn't they are 🙂 They will treat you like family. Yes Beachfront is the best, get to see the water , the sun rises along with sunset etc. Explore like Islander said, nothing quite like the USVI. I am going back down this November but staying at Morningstar to be closer to town thus a bit cheaper in taxis fares lol. But I love both places. If we can talk my son & my daughter in law to close down with us we would stay at Secret Harbor & rent a car. Have fun & enjoy !

Good evening. To Barb and Islander, thank you for your response. It's nice to hear I made a A good choice. I have so many questions, and a few concerns, it's hard to keep them all straight. But,I have found this message board to be a very usefull tool. I'm not very experienced with message boards, so I will try to make my posts concise.(I can't beleve I I misspelled caribbean, duh) Thank you again for your time, and hope to hear from you again. Can't wait to get there. --Quig

In addition to spelling it out as "Secret Harbor", you might do better using the search function here if you spelled the resort name like they do i.e. "Secret Harbour". Also tons of reviews on tripadvisor.com

You will have a great time as I posted no matter how you spell the name lol. The resort on their receipts spell it like you did last time I was there & you can find it either way on most search engines. I did on this board, google & tyrip advisor. Be prepare to see many iguanas there. The bar tender when I was there trained a young one to "beg" like a dog which was funny in a way, I guess. The iguanas are friendly but I would be on the safe side & leave them alone though I petted a few of them couldn't resist & yes I washed my hands very good afterwards lol. Have fun & enjoy. Tell Ernest, Sandra, & Maraget hello. They are great if they are still there.

Thanks again for the info Barb. I went to school in Ireland for a couple of years so I too have to think about how I spell things. Of course on top of that I'm not a great speller to begin with. Thank you for your time. I will be posting more questions soon. Watch out for the jumbies. -Quig
