My family and I will be traveling to St Thomas for the first time and are looking to stay at a villa on the East End. Can anyone tell me about the Flamboyant Condo at Cowpet Bay (US VIP Luxury Villa Rentals)? Any information you can provide about this villa, restaurants and transportation preferences would be greatly appreciated. We are all looking forward to a great time! Thanks!

I don't know about that condo. But if you want to stay at a beach then go to Sapphire.

You should probably mention that you have rental property at Sapphire. I know there are many beautiful beaches on STT.

It seems to be in Cowpet West, has been remodeled and updated from the pictures.. The best part of Cowpet Bay is that you have Robert's and Ainsley's, two of the best restaurants on the east end, right there. The snorkeling is good along the eastern, rocky shore. There are non-motorized water toys available. You can walk next door to the Ritz, but everything else is going to be a drive. My advice is to rent a car. Taxi fares are very expensive.

Ainsley's has a Cubano sandwich with a side of onion petals to die for.

Personally I like the Cowpet area
It is close enough to everything that it is just a short hop
It is far away enough that you don't have to deal with everything
and has enough things there to keep you there if you don't need a lot 24 hour fun
keyword - thing
what is your thing...

Great food on the bay
Place to have a glass of wine or drink
a ok beach with shade in front Elysian

Life is good....

We (6 adults and a baby) stayed there in March and can't wait to go back. I would suggest that you rent a car for sight seeing. They drive on the left side, so if you are not familiar with that, I would take some dramamine for motion sickness. After a day or two of driving you'll be a pro....they honk all the time for good things and bad so just wave and smile! There are two grocery stores close by for your grocery needs...also previous guest leave behind some of their leftovers including alcohol. If you stay here, be sure to check out the hut on the beach for discounted attractions, we took a day sail for about 1/2 price just by visiting there. There are alot of iguanas (big) that roam all over the place, but they don't bother you....the swimming pool and beach is a good walk down (which is no problem) but after the swim and snorkling it is a trek back up (sigh). We had a wonderful time with our family and my husband and I are ready to go back, but we just want to take the granddaughter this time. :).
