Spelling aside , Anyone have the latest on Lindquist Beach ? Are the roads looking good coming in ? Did the park take it over , if so , is there a charge to get in ? Did they rename the Beach ( heard that I thought ) ?

tmanvi...i excuse your spelling 🙂

There's a sign now that says "Smith Bay Beach". We didn't make it this time, but it certainly doesn't look like the same dirt roads we traveled to get there last November. There is a charge to get in now.

Here is the latest as I went to Lindquest a few days ago. But I walked in from the Cabe point end and didi not come from Smith Bay Rd.

1. The roads are improved greatly. Lots of brush removed and they have been scraped pretty flat.

2. They do not let you do down and park on the beach as it possibly will injure the turtles.

3. There is a life guard there. Not sure about the hours.

4. They may be a charge to fet it. I think is about $2

5. It is called Smith Bay Park. Who knows why. I would have thought that it would have been named Lindquest Beach Park.

6. They have porta johns there. Who knows when the clean them out.

7. The published plan is to convert the property to a Megans Bay type of place. Food, booze, water sports, showers, bath rooms and showers. Said they would have it done by the end of the year. I would not count on it.

At least we can feel comfortable enough to be able to tell visitors they can go there! It is a very pretty spot!
Haven't been by it yet, but lookin' forward to it!
