Hello

Could someone please share with me what the best place on St. John is to shop for groceries? Also, could you give me an idea of cost?
Loaf of bread? pound of hamburg? 1/2 gallon of milk? veggies?

Thanks.

BFP

Where do you live people from bigger cities say the prices aren't that much higher. But from the midwest It is about double of what i'm used to.

Have been home a week and just received our final box that we mailed home from St. John and found another Starfish grocery receipt and thought you might want some more prices

1/2 gallon of Tropicana oj $4.89
Dole Bananas $1.14 a lb
Hawaiin Tropic 30 Sunblock 5.4 oz $7.99
Coffee mate French Vanilla (liquid version) $3.65
iceburg lettuce head $3.19
Bonless ribeye steaks (just over a pound and a 1/2) $31.92
red onion .57cents a lb
individual yogurts .95 cents
hidden valley ranch dressing 8oz. $3.79
Haagen Daz Vanilla ice cream (the small round container) $9.99
Asparagus $7.59 a lb
sweet potatoes $1.59

dinner on your terrace at the villa over looking the Caribbean Ocean in 78 degrees with a loved one PRICELESS

Remember everything is shipped in and you pay the price for it. Rum is dirt cheap but a six pack of soda costs $9.99

Hope this helps in your planning

Jill, we'd be good eating buddies. Your grocery list look exactly like one I might have!
You pay a bit more on the island, but groceries are still cheaper than eating out all the time.
