Yes, they are everywhere.

I have seen them as little as 5", and as long as a foot.

Dave,

Are you sure you aren't looking at iguanas? A foot-long gecko would be really something to see!!

Dave - foot long geckos.... eeeek! Are you sure it wasn't a ground lizard. I have seen really large geckos, but not on St. Thomas -on other Caribbean islands.

stt, I know what Iguanas look like. This was no Iguana.

Islander, maybe it was a ground lizard. It looked like a gecko, but bigger.
