*Dear Islander,

We will be on a trip to the USVI in April and want to know the beach etiquette there. Are any of the beaches clothing optional or top optional for women? If so, which ones? We do not wish to offend anyone.

Hello Jack,

There are no clothing optional beaches - nude bathing at beaches is illegal here. Top optional - some folks go to the far ends of less populated beaches and do this but its not common. I have seen it a little at Honeymoon Beach on Water Island and some less populated beaches on St. John like Salt Pond Bay.
