Whenever Inner Visions were on the island, they had a standing gig at Fred's on Wednesdays. It was always one of my sweetest memories of a trip to STJ. It's not happening this year, though. For health reasons, Fred isn't having music during the week and IV already had booked themselves for weekends. They are playing regularly at Sputnik's, whcih would be a great place to see them. They're also at Maho regularly. But for me, seeing them at Fred's was one of the last remaining bits of STJ as it was when we first went there in the mid-80s. But I look forward to seing them at Sputnik's.

Here's their website with their schedule: http://digitaldudes.com/home.htm

Hey, Lex! We saw IV at Sputniks in November while we down there. They were just back from a stateside tour and they were fantastic. What surprised me though, was how few folks were there. Mainly SJ residents, there may have been 25-30 people total through out the evening. Suited me fine, as I'm not much into crowded situations.
On another subject- I know how much you've resented that one particlar villa built out by Hanson Bay. Well, my advice to you if you go back that way, then do it soon if you don't want to get really depressed. We drove the new stone- walled road that goes for miles up over Vie's and all I can say is, though impressive in it's grandeur, it's just as depressing to see it as the tasteless monstrosities on Peter Bay. Ms. Vie says that they are destroying her beach with the runoff. Now I see they just gave another developer [stateside carpetbagger?] permission to develope another 75 acres out towards Privateer Bay. Arghh! Joe

Hi JT. Yeah, breaks my heart to see the neighborhood going downhill like that. Some folks look at an area and see beauty. Some folks just see underutilized land that could be very profitable to develop. Unfortunately the war is already over, they've won, and now it's just dividing up the spoils. I have my memories to keep me warm.

I would like to see IV at Sputniks. That's be good. We may go this fall. My wife has a significant birthday coming up and I'd like to take her. Actually, I wanted to take her to VG, but she wants one more look at STJ and it is HER birthday.
