Is Little Magens beach still unofficially tolerant of some nudity? I have heard mixed reports. My wife enjoys shedding her top on tropical trips and we aren't worried about the fact that most folks there will be gay.

A beach cannot be tolerant. Nudity is illegal in the USVI. There may or may not be someone there to enforce the law. In my best Dirty Harry imitation- Do you feel lucky?

I understand it still is. Once in a very rare while a police officer will make a stop there and ask anyone insufficiently clothed to cover up. Has your wife tried the tan-thru swimsuits?

I understand your point. By "Tolerant" I meant "Choose not to enforce". This is the case in many places around the world (like mexico) and my understanding was that it had also been the case at Little Magens and Salomon in the past. Just checking to see if it was still the case or if they had actively been ticketing as part of a "crack down".

Thanks

She hasn't tried the tan through suits. Partly she likes to go topless or au natural because she knows that I love it - not so much for the tan lines issues. Thanks for the idea though.

Follow-up question that some folks will find amusing - Anyone know how much the ticket costs if you do get a ticket for wearing too few clothes?

I'd worry far less about the cost of the ticket than if you happened to come across one of our not-so-finest who got out of bed on the wrong side and decided to haul you down to the local precinct, You never know!

I'll be there in about 2 weeks on a cruise. Wondering how to get there from Magens beach - I've read there's a trail at the end of the beach (looking at the water to the right) and I've heard that there's no trail and you have to walk in the water...can someone confirm.

There is no trail. Walk to the far right hand side of the beach, you will pass some board rental outfit, then you will get to the end where the rocks start. Keep walking around the rocks in knee/waist deep water about 100 yards until you get to a rock outcrop with one coconut tree on it, that's Little Magens.
It is an easy walk, my 70 y/o mother-in-law, who doesn't know how to swim, made it.
Bring along your mask/snorkel. After Little Magens, you might want to snorkel along the rocks on the left side, you might see barracudas.
After the beach, go up to Drake Seat for some photo shoots.

You might want to try Lindquist beach or it may be called Smith beach. Located between Sapphire and Coki it's a beach less traveled, but quite beautiful.

I hope you're not suggesting Smith Bay Park (Lindqvist) as "unofficially tolerant of some nudity" as that it absolutely isn't!
