Hi all!

My wife and I are going to be flying down to St. Thomas this Saturday morning and want to know from everyone who has been there, what should we do first? Is there anything we should look out for? We have heard Taxis are a rip off, and others say they are the way to go. We have heard from some to just walk the whole time we are there and others say get a jeep! HELP???

Anybody have any recommendations on the best of the best places to go and places that we should really stay away from?

THANKS!!!!

Is there a reason that you haven't rented a car? Also, where in St. Thomas are you staying. If you like to get around and see things, like different beaches, I would definetly rent a car. Walking around? Only if you want to stay stationary in one town and i don't see any reason why you want to do that.

Hi

There is a poster on another board that has a document he gives to people that rent his condo and it is awesome. Email him at [email protected] and he will send you the information.

We didn't rent a car on our first trip to STT. I think we spent about $60 a day (for 2 of us) on cab fare. We stayed right outside of Red Hook and I thought we were close enough to the action. This time we are renting a car. I am very excited to have a car on this trip. We will be able to see more of the island.

1st , rent a car, if you are staying on STT you don't need 4w drive. 2nd go to Magens beach, my favorite of them all, you can get a lounge chair and a pool float , the water is that calm. It is a very gradual decline into the water, and has lots of areas to get shade. Everyone raves about Trunk Bay on STJ but, there is a drop off in the water right as you get in and the wave action makes it difficult to get out, not a lot of shade and the beach chairs are very basic and low to the sand, you definately need something along to lay on. Most of all relax and have a great time!

Stay away from Charlotte Amalli on Saturday! It's crazy on the weekends. Try to stay on the beaches.
