Merry Crimble to everyone and may the season have you revelling in total bacchanalian indulgence so that by the time New Year's resolutions come around, you're toadally ready to make all those promises!

To those of you in colder climes, particularly in the North-East and Mid-West, sorry you're being subjected to the recent weather onslaught. We have our own weather-related crosses to bear in the VI but, when you're feeling down, click onto that favourite photograph you took while here and mentally absorb the radiance. This too shall pass! Cheers!

Merry Crispins to you STT RES, and all who read and post.
I promise to not eat too much, laugh too much, spend too much, enjoy too much,......YEAH RIGHT! HA!!!!
We are finally getting rain here in So. Cal in spurts now and again, which is wonderful compared to
what some of you are getting. Please forgive me but, I'll be selfishly doing a 'great weather dance' before
I fly to Virginia, and back over Christmas to visit my youngest son in the Navy.
Have a wonderful New Year everyone, remember not to 'spit', or 'pee' into the wind.

Now Promo,
I said, 'spurts' now and again. And, yea, more to come this week. I'll be looking for you
and your umbrella. I hope. Have a Merry.

Merry Christmas to everybody. I just hate this cold weather in PA.

Just wondering....do you all get fresh Christmas trees in the islands?

Happy Holidays STT Resident.

Connie - yes fresh Christmas trees are brought in and available. Fresh and fake trees are the most commonly used today. The traditional trees used for a Christmas tree however were the inkberry and century plant stalk.

The Century plant stalk that Islander is referring to is the blossom or seeds of the plant! It is cut after it dries (when in blossom, it is yellow and very pretty), and some people will paint it Gold and then decorate mostly with natural decorations! I've only had the chance to see one ink berry Christmas tree, VERY prickly! lol! Islander posted a thread complete with articles on the topic!
Another decoration we use is the dwarf Palm seed remnants....after drying, paint it Gold and then put a red bow on the stem! Very pretty! 🙂 This Palm is often called a Christmas Palm, because of it's bright red seeds!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
