I'll be in St. Thomas in January. Are there private ferries/boats that will take me from WICO dock to Water Island round trip? Thanks.

Click on the "ferry schedule" link up in the upper right corner of this web page. There you will see the schedule for the privately owned Water Island Ferry. When you get off the cruise ship take a taxi to the Crown Bay Marina complex, less than 15 minute trip, to catch the Water Island ferry which loads right next to Tickles Restaurant, for the 10 minute trip to Water Island. There is no public transportation on Water Island, so plan on walking.

The ferry Rocky mentioned is the only one for Water Island. The taxi between WICO/Havensight and Crown Bay takes about 15 minutes in low traffic. Taxi costs about $5 or $6 per person, one way.

Are you trying to avoid taking a taxi to Crown Bay to catch the Water Island ferry, or have a reason for wanting to be picked up at WICO? If you are looking for a boat trip that includes Water Island there are some charter boats that operate from the Charlotte Amalie harbor that offer pick up in WICO/Havensight area. They typically go to Buck Island for snorkeling, but if you did a private trip could request doing both Buck Island and stopping at Water Island.

You can contact Joe Mancino who is actually one of the Water Island ferry captains. He operates Post Time Charters and he does private pick ups and drop offs all the time. http://www.posttimecharters.com/
