I noticed on the cruise ship schedule that the Queen Mary 2 was in port yesterday. Did anyone see it? Pictures?

Would love to see it!

I heard there was somehwere betwwen 50-60 crew! When you look at them on the yacht, their heads barely rise above the sides of the boat! It is deceiving, as it looks like a small yacht from the profile and actually it's not!

Bwahahahaha! Now THAT is a proper boat!

Alrighty now, in 24 hours, I should be good and "happy" in St. Thomas.

Who owns the Rising Sun, and aren't they just over-compensating a bit?!?

I saw Queen Mary II here in New York City and thought Disney or sombody built another casino looking building on the water. I had to do a double take !
IT’S A MUST SEE UP CLOSE but I still think the Norway was prettier

I'm sure it's a stupid question but what's Oracle?

Ron

I think Ellison just threw up in his Christmas pudding. Paul Allen was Bill Gates partner. Ellison has spent the last decade trying to win any of his numerous lawsuits against Microsoft.

Merry Christmas.

Got it backwards I guess, sort of. Certainly won't be rubbing shoulders with any of them any time soon!

America’s 100 Largest Yachts 2006 #1: Rising Sun
By Diane M. Byrne

#1: RISING SUN—452’8”

When is big too big? Apparently when it’s nearly 453 feet—or at least that’s what Larry Ellison believes. The head of Oracle Corporation, who’s been an avid yachtsman for years, told Forbes in July, “I think I made a mistake, making Rising Sun so big. It is one and a half football fields long,” further explaining that he’s building a 250-footer. The news got yacht-watchers worldwide speculating about whether he’d sell this boat, complete with an aft-deck basketball court and just eight staterooms, and generally discussing the troubles of owning something so cumbersome.

(In fact, it prompted one of our Megayachts forum members to post, “Yeah, I know what [Larry Ellison] is talking about! My father did the same...downsized from 35 feet to 15 feet.”) Interesting enough, however, Ellison didn’t say he’s selling Rising Sun. Of course, he didn’t say he’s not selling this yacht, either. After all, as longtime yacht-watchers and essentially everyone in the marine industry knows, everything’s for sale for the right price.
